No Daytime burning permitted. Open Air burning is permitted from 6pm to 6 am with a permit. Campfires do not require a permit.

Who can obtain a burn permit?

All residents of Chisholm can obtain a burn permit. If you are not the Owner of the property, you must obtain permission first. Permits are conditional and may be revoked at any time.

How can I obtain a burn permit?

You may register online using this website, or you can contact the Township Office in person or by phone.

What can I burn?

Please only burn wood, wood by-products (cardboard, paper etc.) or leaves.

Do I need a permit?

If you want to have an open-air fire (brush fire, fire pit etc.) then yes, you need an approved permit. If you are having a barbecue a permit is not required.

Do I need a permit for a Campfire?

No. If you are having a small recreational fire for cooking or warmth then you do not require a permit. A Campfire must be less than 1 meter in height and diameter.
